The Ukraine Family Scheme Visa

The Ukraine Family Scheme Visa is open for applications. It allows applicants to join family members who are already settled in the UK. It is free to apply and you can stay in the UK for up to 3 years. You do not need to pay the NHS surcharge or biometric enrolment fee for this visa. The burden will lie on the applicant or family member already based in the UK to provide documentary evidence of their family ties. The Home Office have defined family members to include: parents, grandparents, children over 18 and siblings, in addition to the most immediate relatives already eligible for UK visas.

You will be able to live, work and study in the UK and access public funds.

In order to be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

• be applying to join or accompany your UK-based family member; and
• be Ukrainian or the immediate family member of a Ukrainian national who is applying to the scheme; and
• have been residing in Ukraine on or immediately before 1 January 2022 (including those who have now left Ukraine).
