Proposed changes to the law could soon mean that couples can marry wherever they chose, rather than being confined to pre-registered and authorised venues.

This will mean that you will be able to get married anywhere you wish, provided it is in a safe and dignified location, and carried out by a legally registered officiant.

The legislation will bring England and Wales into line with Scotland (where weddings can take place anywhere that is agreed with the Registrar) and reform the current outdated requirements.

So, if you want to get married in a shepherd’s hut or on a Devon beach you will be able to do so! Just remember that you should take advice beforehand as to whether a Prenuptial Agreement is in your interests, especially if you are getting married for the second or third time.
