The hidden effects of the lockdown
The country has now been in lockdown since 23rd March, a total of five weeks.
For many of us this time has been used positively, to spend quality time with our partners and children, to do all those jobs we were always “getting around to doing” or simply thinking about our future lives after lockdown. For some however this time has been used to reconsider their relationships.
The charity Relate has warned of a “relationship reckoning” after the lockdown as one person in eight has said they have doubts about their future with their partner. In a survey of 2,021 cohabiting couples, 12% were revaluating their relationship and 25% said they were arguing more! The figures are daunting, however if you find yourself in that situation, the best thing you can do is get sound legal advice before taking any steps. This will ensure you can make an informed decision about the way forward.
