More exciting developments in family law with the recent decision of Sharp and Sharp.

The court decided that in a short marriage with no children a 50/50 split is not the way forward.  This involved a big money case but it will be interesting to see how the courts will apply this to us ordinary folk.  I also wonder whether the boundaries will be pushed to set out what exactly is a short marriage. In this case it was four years, but could this be increased?

I have also seen an opinion about whether the court would have made the same decision if a man had brought the case; interesting questions!
