Over the last few years Berlad Graham LLP has rapidly grown and as part of the process added and obtained various quality marks.  What do they actually mean and why have we gone through this effort to obtain the same?

CQS – The Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) provides a recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing practices. Membership establishes a level of credibility for firms with stakeholders such as regulators, lenders and insurers as well as residential homebuyers and sellers. Since inception, in 2011, the CQS has created a trusted community which has helped year on year to deter fraud and continually improve standards across the residential conveyancing sector. CQS is awarded to firms who can demonstrate a very high level of experience in the field and forces its members to adhere to a very strict protocol.

Lexcel – Lexcel is the Law Society’s legal practice quality mark for excellence in legal practice management and excellence in client care. It provides a flexible, supportive management framework to help practices develop consistent operational efficiencies and client services, manage risk effectively, reduce costs and promote profitability.  Lexcel sets the required Standard in seven different areas: structure and strategy, financial management, information management, people management, risk management, client care and file and case management. Lexcel scheme rules outline the design, principles and governance processes of the scheme. Obtaining Lexcel is a reassurance to all those who are involved, in whichever capacity,  with Berlad Graham.  Practices and organisations accredited against the Standard have the flexibility to implement procedures that are appropriate to their circumstances.

Family Law Advanced PanelChristine McNeish is our Family specialist who has successfully obtained this accreditation.  The Family Law Advanced Accreditation covers specialist areas of family law work.  Members will have shown that they have and will maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in selected, specialist areas of family law. Members will have demonstrated those skills in two or more areas, comprising:

  • children law private
  • child abduction and wardship
  • cohabitation
  • violence in the home
  • advice in and conduct of financial settlements
  • international issues
  • complex asset cases

Resolution –  This group has 6,500 members who are family lawyers.  Both Christine and Raanan are members and follow a Code of Practice that promotes a non-confrontational approach to family problems. Members are encouraged to find solutions that consider the needs of the whole family – and in particular the best interests of children.

Gaining all of these quality marks indicates a very high level and clear commitment to the customer and the delivery of exceptional customer service, something that Berlad Graham not only strives to achieve but delivers in our care and attention to achieving the best possible outcome for our clients.
